8. The Blakeley Addition Tract

The Blakeley Addition Tract was purchased to provide public outdoor recreational opportunities, protect the site’s diverse natural communities, provide opportunities for ecological education and protect significant archeological and historic resources.
A nature trail, complete with a long plank boardwalk across Boggy Branch, provides an easy, quiet walk through most of the various ecosystems of this tract. Portions of the trail are handicapped and/or horseback accessible. No off-road vehicles, metal detectors, digging tools, primitive camping or hunting are allowed on the property. Camping or lodging, food and refreshments are available either from adjacent the Historic Blakeley Park or nearby Spanish Fort businesses.
This tract is located about four miles north of Spanish Fort just west of State Highway 225 that runs between I-65 and I-10. Access to the Forever Wild property is through the main gate of Blakeley Historic Park. The main paved road forks about 3/4th mile from the gate; the left fork goes to the Forever Wild property while the right fork goes to the Historic Park. Visitors should leave their vehicles parked only in designated areas Remove all trash generated.
